Experiential Leadership with Horses
Horse-Informed Leadership Development
Learning leadership, presence, and relational awareness through the honest language of horses.
Horses offer immediate, unfiltered feedback. They respond to clarity, timing, energy, and emotional steadiness. They show us the impact we have on others, not through words, but through presence.
This work is not about controlling horses. It is about partnering with them, listening to them, and understanding how your internal state shapes every interaction. Horses mirror patterns we miss in ourselves. They show when we are unclear, when we push too hard, when we collapse, and when we find the grounded center that creates trust.
I collaborate with master horseman Jim Culver to offer custom half-day and full-day leadership development experiences for teams and organizations. These sessions use natural horsemanship principles to help people understand both individual and collective patterns and to practice leading with clarity instead of force.
What Teams Learn
Through hands-on groundwork and observation, teams explore:
How their energy and attention affect communication
How to make clear requests and set boundaries with steadiness
How to stay centered when things become uncertain
How group dynamics shift through presence and relational awareness
How to lead through attunement rather than pressure
This learning is experiential, immediate, and memorable. Horses offer honest feedback that people tend to feel, not just understand, which makes the insights durable and actionable back at work.
No horse experience is required.
Just an openness to what horses have to teach us.
What it looks like:
Who this is for:
Teams or groups who want to:
Strengthen communication and trust
Practice embodied leadership
Understand individual and collective patterns
Build emotional regulation skills
Learn through direct experience rather than models or theory
Leadership development with horses is especially powerful for organizations that value self-awareness, authenticity, and relational intelligence.
